By 2018, 20% of businesses will use digital security services to protect IoT initiatives

Relying on HP, Gartner and others, a cyber-security report concludes that currently, 70% of the common IoT devices are vulnerable and carry inherent risks, especially due to insufficiently secured routers that can be exploited by bad actors during software updates and then used as proxy servers to attack targets, shut down internet service providers or cripple business operations. This trend will decline due to private sector awareness, political change and cybercrime development.
